Coronavirus

Dear Tenant,

Coronavirus is having a huge impact on us all.  We have had to adapt quickly to life with restrictions, something that would have been unthinkable only a few weeks ago.

Some of you may have suffered the illness, others may have lost loved ones as a result. My deepest sympathy goes out to all who have been tragically impacted by this virus.

Over the last few weeks I have moved many of my teams away from their normal duties and asked them to contact our tenants to offer support and reassurance, or just to be a friendly voice.

We’re planning to contact as many of you as possible to make sure you have everything you need during these difficult times and to ensure the details we hold for you are accurate and up to date.  It would help us if you could click on the link below and let us know your preferred method of contact.  If you don't complete the form then we will contact you using the details we already hold.

My team are working closely with the Neath Port Talbot Council's Safe and Well project.  The project has been set up to assist people who don't have the support of friends, family or neighbours and can help arrange the delivery of food, prescription medication, and other essential support services you need.

If there is something that you require help or support with please don’t wait– please call us now or get in touch by clicking on this link and completing the form.

I am aware that some of you have had your income affected because of coronavirus and are struggling to pay your rent.  Please don’t worry - we have a dedicated team of staff who are able to provide advice on welfare benefits and grants that you may be entitled to during this time.

I would like to reassure you that you will not be evicted from your home, whilst our team supports you with your loss of income. So, if you are experiencing financial difficulties it’s really important you tell us - click on the link above and we'll be able to help you.

If you haven’t lost any income or benefit entitlement as a result of coronavirus, then please continue to pay your rent as normal.  If you are on Universal Credit, you will need to update your weekly rent figure in your journal, if you have not already done so.  This ensures you are receiving the correct amount of UC and to maximise financial help towards your rent.

This is a challenging time for us all but I hope I have reassured you that we are here to support you, whether it be giving you a call to see how you are, or supporting you financially with advice on claiming benefits, grants or budgeting.

The Government has lots of useful advice on their website not only about the virus, but also how to look after yourself during this time:  https://phw.nhs.wales/topics/latest-information-on-novel-coronavirus-covid-19/

Please take care and remember we are here for you.

Best Wishes

Linda
