Crymlyn Primary School in Jersey Marine has become the final beneficiary of NPT Homes’ Community Challenge in 2016.

With the children and teachers enjoying their summer holidays, NPT Homes’ volunteers and RT Contractors moved in to give the school grounds a makeover. The school’s yard and field where transformed and will now become an area where the children play and explore.

For the fourth year running, NPT Homes is investing in the local community by transforming a record eight community projects as part of their Community Challenge.

The partnership programme involves 12 of NPT Homes’ main contractors and suppliers, and will see projects from across the Neath Port Talbot borough benefit from free building or maintenance work.

The Community Challenge begun as a direct result of the community benefits that became part of all contracts drawn up by NPT Homes. As a result, any business that works directly with the social housing provider must give something back to the community.

Donna Evans of Crymlyn Primary School said:

“As a school, we were thrilled to be were selected for the NPT Homes Community Challenge. We are really pleased with the work that has been carried out we’re sure that the children will really enjoy exploring the area once they return to school in September.”

Gethin Thomas, Contracts Director from RT Contractors said:

“We’re proud to be involved in NPT Homes’ Community Challenge again this year. It is important to us as a company that we work with the local community and undertaking this challenge has given us the opportunity to do just that. We really hope that the children enjoy using their new area.”
