Intensive Housing Management
This service provides intensive housing management to identified tenants to ensure their tenancies are sustained. There is a charge for this service which can be paid by housing benefit if you are eligible for that benefit.
If you receive universal credit then our UC team can let you know if you can use this to pay towards the cost of this service.
Each Intensive Housing Management Officer provides support for up to 20 tenants. They help tenants to meet the requirements of their occupation contract.
This is achieved by working together with a tenant to effectively manage their tenancy by:
- Agreeing a Personal Housing Plan
- Agreeing arrangements to remedy breaches of tenancy conditions
- Regular contact to support the changes that are to be made
- Providing advice on all aspects of sustaining a successful tenancy
- Signposting to and facilitating support offered by other services e.g. help with finances and budgets, help from other voluntary agencies
Officers work to build relationships with tenants receiving the service to agree a Personal Housing Plan. They stay in regular contact with tenants throughout through home visits, telephone, text and/or letter.
Please discuss this service with your Housing Officer if you feel you could benefit.
