Chief Executive announces retirement
Monday 23 March 2026
Tai Tarian Chief Executive, Linda Whittaker has announced her retirement from the organisation.
Linda, who took the reins in 2011, when Neath Port Talbot’s social housing stock was transferred from the local authority over to the newly created organisation, then called NPT Homes.
One of Linda’s first major objectives was overseeing the modernisation and upgrading of thousands of homes to ensure they met the Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS). Since then, the company has grown, still managing over 9000 homes and now employing around 600, mainly local, staff.
Announcing her plans to retire to staff, Linda said:
“I have taken immense pride and satisfaction in playing my part in our collective journey.
“From the successful execution of WHQS, to the creation of new homes as part of our development programme, we’ve also established new teams to address tenants' needs including our Financial Inclusion and Damp, Mould & Condensation teams. All this ensures we can provide a best-in-class service to our tenants, who we always put at the heart of everything we do.
“This has been a challenging decision for me, as I am still so enthused and committed to the future of Tai Tarian. Reflecting on our achievements across the last 15 years and knowing how ambitious our aspirations are for the next 15 has made this decision even harder.
“However, now is the right time for me to hand the baton on to someone else who will take Tai Tarian into its next phase.”
Linda will officially leave her role on 30th September 2026. A recruitment exercise is currently underway to appoint her successor.
