How a simple change helped nature thrive
Tuesday 07 July 2026
Sometimes, the biggest changes can start by accident.
During the pandemic, areas around our head office in Baglan were left uncut for longer than usual. What followed was a noticeable increase in native wildflowers, pollinators and other wildlife.
The results were so positive that we changed the way we manage not only the grounds at our head office, but many of our community green spaces too. By reducing grass cutting in selected areas, we've created opportunities for native plants to flourish and for wildlife habitats to develop naturally.
Today, Baglan HQ is home to thousands of bees living in our on-site hives, provides food and shelter for a wide range of species, and has even become home to slow worms relocated from our Tudor Inn development site in Cimla.
As part of Wales Nature Week, come behind the scenes at our head office to see how the grounds have been transformed into a haven for wildlife.
